School Travel Bursaries
The Kent Local Section of the Royal Society of Chemistry is keen to provide additional financial support for schools who wish to promote an interest in the chemical sciences in their students. We have therefore decided to provide a bursary of up to £200 towards the cost of providing transport to and from an event for any school wishing to organise a visit for their students.
If you wish to apply for funds, please complete the form above giving as much details of the event identified, transport costs and potential benefit to the students. Completed requests for support should be submitted to the Secretary.
Discovery Park's Jamboree
"Having spoken to Year 6 this am, it is evident that they gained a great deal of inspiration and learning from an array of new scientific experiences at Discovery Park’s Jamboree. They were animated and knowledgeable when discussing density of liquids and objects - information gleaned from practical experiments.
Other areas of scientific understanding which stood out for them were the super absorbent polymers and designing and making rockets with the Royal Engineers. As they prepare to move to secondary school they Day has heightened their understanding that science is a mixture of disciplines - not one subject. Thank you so much for your support in enabling us to send our pupils."
