Characterisation of Catalysts
Date
7–9 April 2027
Subject areas
Industry , Analytical , Materials , Catalysis , Organic
Location
Manchester, UK
7–9 April 2027 | Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, The University of Manchester
Characterisation of Catalysts will bring together leading researchers from the NMR, catalysis and materials science communities to discuss recent advances in analytical methods and their applications to understanding catalytic processes at the molecular level.
The scientific programme will explore the complementary roles of solution-state and solid-state NMR spectroscopy, dynamic nuclear polarisation (DNP), and other characterisation techniques in investigating homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts, reactive intermediates, catalytic surfaces and porous materials. Particular emphasis will be placed on emerging methodologies, including in situ and operando reaction monitoring, hyperpolarisation-enhanced spectroscopy, and techniques for probing catalytic mechanisms, molecular interactions and reaction kinetics.
The three-day meeting will feature invited plenary lectures from internationally recognised researchers, contributed oral presentations selected from submitted abstracts, poster sessions and opportunities for informal scientific discussion. Postgraduate students and early-career researchers are particularly encouraged to participate, present their work and develop connections across disciplines.
The conference is organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry NMR Discussion Group (RSC NMRDG), in collaboration with the UK Catalysis Hub and the UK DNP Facility.
