Cyanotype Workshop
Led by local artist Eileen White, this hands-on workshop will give participants the chance to make two A4 cyanotypes. The finished prints will be displayed during the festival and, we hope, afterwards in the building.
Cyanotype works by placing opaque and transparent shapes or objects onto light-sensitive paper, then exposing it to UV light to create striking blue-and-white images.
During the workshop, participants will explore the chemistry behind cyanotype, how light can drive chemical change, and why the process continues to be used by artists, educators and researchers today. The activity links creativity with photochemistry, materials and experimentation, showing how simple reactions can produce beautiful and lasting images.
