Challenges in Peptide and Protein Science

The PPSG will host an interdisciplinary meeting bringing together academic and industrial researchers in peptide and protein science to identify shared challenges and develop collaborative solutions across chemical biology, biomedicine and manufacturing.

Built around the theme “Identify – Align – Solve”, the meeting is designed to foster development of grant ideas for collaborative PhD studentships, responsive mode proposals, fellowships and larger research funding applications.

Key topics will include but not limited to: Membrane Permeability, Chemically Diverse Library Production, Hit Identification, Biotherapeutic Development, Roles of AI, and Sustainability.

The meeting will take place over two days and include:

• Keynotes from leading academics driving responsible research;

• Keynotes from industry leaders highlighting real-world challenges;

• Overviews of UK and European funding opportunities;

• ECRs outlining their research and desired collaboration opportunities;

Structured workshops and discussions, including:

• Problem-driven breakout sessions

• Development workshops

• Panel discussions with funding representatives

• One-to-one networking to facilitate collaboration via poster presentation
