Our publishing platform is evolving
Over the past few months our Product Development team has been actively engaging with readers of our publishing platform across a broad-spectrum of users in and outside the UK to obtain a greater understanding of their needs and challenges.
As an organisation we very much value any feedback we receive, positive or negative, and use this data to make visiting our products a better experience, and to ensure we meet the needs and expectations of your valued library users.
The data from this research has motivated us to initiate a project to improve the current platform in order to: better reflect the quality of our journals, books and databases content; meet visitor needs; and help the scholarly community as a whole.
During the project, we will improve key areas of the website based on our research findings to ensure:
- greater accessibility of content
- better content discoverability
- an improved experience for mobile and tablet users
- the site is easier to use
- pages load more quickly around the world
How will our redesign work impact libraries?
We will be required to make changes to the current content URLs and our IP addresses are likely to also change.
These changes are expected to take place in February 2017.
To reduce the impact on your library content systems and websites, we wanted to make you aware as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns about this work or these dates, please contact us.
