Biography

Organic Chemist and a Cosmetic Chemist with 25+ years’ experience in cosmetics and personal care industry. I have experience in cosmetic formulation, cosmetic regulation, testing, quality control and health and safety practices. 

I currently provide bespoke consultancy services to multinational and small companies. I am an independent expert who is sought after in dispute resolution cases, providing advice to retailers, manufacturers and brand owners. In the last years been an expert witness to two cases with one going to court.

I have been involved in the Society of Cosmetic Science in both the educational and science program. I have been in the Formulation Science and Technology Group (FSTG) for over a decade and helped organise more than a dozen seminars on Nano Technology and Encapsulation and Personal Care topics.

Helped set up the BSc Cosmetic Science course at Sunderland University and taught for the first two years. Then moved to Liverpool John Moores University taught at the MSc Cosmetic Science Course and Separatory in the Pharmacy Department.

I have published numerous papers and co-wrote the Lectures on Organic Chemistry textbook (World Scientific Press and Imperial College Press).
