Biography
Jesús M. Velázquez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Davis. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University at Buffalo, SUNY. He subsequently held a postdoctoral appointment in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. His research program focuses on the rational design of well-defined solid-state materials across the meso and nanoscale for applications in energy conversion and storage. His work integrates microscopy, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and synchrotron-based methods to elucidate physicochemical properties and establish structure–function relationships that guide the design of advanced materials.
