Jieqiong Shan
City University of Hong Kong
Biography
Dr Jieqiong Shan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the City University of Hong Kong. She received her Ph.D. degree at The University of Adelaide (UoA) in early 2021, under the supervision of Prof. Shi-Zhang Qiao. Dr. Shan has been working on atomic-scale electrocatalyst engineering for clean energy conversion technologies. Her research interests focus on rational design and precise synthesis of electrocatalysts with desired active sites and investigation of their reaction mechanisms in critical electrocatalytic applications including water electrolysis and electrochemical C-N coupling reaction. Dr. Shan has published more than 20 refereed papers as first/co-first/corresponding author in top journals in the field of materials, energy and chemistry, including Science Advances, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, etc., with over 5000 citations. She was listed among Stanford’s top 2% most highly cited scientists (2024).
