Biography
Professor Jun Hee Jang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Rowan University. He earned his B.S. from Korea University (2011) and his M.S. from Seoul National University (2014), both in Chemical Engineering. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2020) under the supervision of Mahdi M. Abu-Omar. Prior to joining Rowan in 2024, he was a postdoctoral research associate with Gregg T. Beckham at the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR; formerly NREL). Professor Jang’s overarching research goals are to integrate molecular-level catalyst design with process intensification to enable selective, scalable biomass upgrading to sustainable fuels and chemicals, supported by process modelling and techno-economic analysis. He is a recipient of the ACS Green Chemistry Institute Early Career Postdoctoral-to-Faculty Bridge Award.
