Biography

Dr Letizia Bresciani is an Associate Professor in Human Nutrition at the University of Parma, Italy. She obtained her PhD in Food Science and Technology at the University of Parma, where she also conducted her postdoctoral research before taking up her current position. Her research focuses on the role of dietary bioactive compounds from plant-based foods in human health, with particular attention to their metabolism, bioavailability, and biological effects.

Her work integrates nutritional science with advanced analytical approaches, including mass spectrometry-based techniques, to investigate the fate of bioactive compounds in the human body. She is also involved in research on dietary assessment and exposure to phytochemicals in human populations. Her current interests include the application of innovative methodologies to better understand the interaction between diet and health. She is a member of the Italian Society of Human Nutrition.
