Maria Southall

Biography
Maria is the executive editor of the interfaces and engineering portfolio of journals, as listed below.
She joined us in 2014 and has worked in a variety of publishing roles within the organisation since then. She has led the editorial team for the interfaces portfolio since 2020. Maria has a biology degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and a PhD in molecular genetics from the University of Glasgow. Before joining us, she carried out postdoctoral research at University College London and the University of Cambridge on the genetics of ageing.
Outside of work, Maria is a keen runner and hiker.
