Biography
Vanchiappan Aravindan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the IISER, Tirupati. Prior to joining here, he served as a Senior Scientist at the Energy Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University. His research focuses on the development of advanced materials for electrochemical energy storage systems, including Li-ion batteries, supercapacitors, and other next-generation energy storage devices. His work also emphasises sustainable energy solutions through the recycling and upcycling of spent batteries, end-of-life photovoltaic panels, and single-use plastics for charge storage applications, alongside the design of high-performance electrode and electrolyte materials for energy conversion and storage technologies.
