This 1-day course is Day 1 of the Complete Hands-on GC & GC-MS course. Incorporating 50% theory and 50% practical in a lab environment within a small group size, you will gain both knowledge and hands-on experience of gas chromatography together. There is also time to discuss any problems you are facing with GC in your work.

The course begins with an introduction to GC followed by detailed presentations of each component to give you a sound understanding of the function and operation of that component. You will then apply the theory in the lab, familiarising yourself with the GC system, creating methods, performing injections and changing method parameters to see the effects.

At the end of the course you will have gained the knowledge and experience of operating a GC for analysis, and experimenting with method parameters.

This 1-day course can be combined with any of the other 1-day courses from the 5-day Hands-on Complete GC & GC-MS course.

Prerequisites

This course is suitable for all levels of knowledge; however for complete beginners it is advisable to attend the 1-day Absolute Basics of GC & GC-MS first to get a good basic overview of gas chromatography and GC-MS.

Additional information

Includes: lunch and refreshments; hardcopy of the training manual in colour; any instrument parts & consumables used; certificate of attendance.
