This course covers all the essential knowledge and practice to start developing methods and analysing samples using purge-and-trap. The course covers the theory, method development, optimisation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the technique by mixing presentations with lab exercises. This hands-on course is 50% theory and 50% practical in a lab environment.
This one-day course is Day 6 of the Hands-on Sample Preparation course. Beginning with the fundamental theory, we explain the principles of P&T and the different types of samples that can be analysed using this technique. You will then use this learning to create P&T methods, analyse samples and experiment with parameters to see the effects. We finish the day by discussing frequent maintenance and common troubleshooting problems in P&T analysis.
At the end of the course you will have gained both knowledge and experience of using the technique with a GC or GC-MS to analyse samples, optimise method parameters and perform instrument set-up, maintenance and troubleshooting.
