Winner: 2024 Journal of Materials Chemistry Lectureship
Raphaële Clément
University of California
For making significant contributions to the field of materials chemistry in their early career.

Raphaële is an Associate Professor in the Materials Department at UC Santa Barbara. The Clément group at UC Santa Barbara is interested in establishing materials design rules, and in optimizing materials processing approaches to advance electrochemical energy storage.
Discover Raphaële’s research:
- Synthetic control of structure and conduction properties in Na–Y–Zr–Cl solid electrolytes
- Probing reaction processes and reversibility in Earth-abundant Na3FeF6 for Na-ion batteries
Runners up
Each year we have a large number of excellent researchers nominated for the lectureship across the Journal of Materials Chemistry A, B and C. To recognise the diversity of the three journals, the overall community, and the candidates nominated each year, we have decided to additionally recognise two runners-up for this lectureship:

Dr Maxx Arguilla
University of California, Irvine, United States

Dr Phillip Milner
Cornell University, United States
