Winner: 2021 Inspirational Committee Award

RSC Formulation Science and Technology Group

For the successful transition of their conference programme to run online on during the Covid-19 pandemic.

RSC Formulation Science and Technology Group

The Royal Society of Chemistry's Formulation Science and Technology Interest Group (FSTG) promotes all aspects of product formulation from initial product concept, through the development of prototypes, to market testing and manufacture, across the diverse markets impacted. From paints to shampoos, drugs to agrochemicals, knowledge of formulation is essential. It combines a range of different ingredients to optimise the required product performance, like protecting metals from corrosion or making hair tangle free or killing cancer cells. The FSTG committee is made up of individuals from across formulation academia and industry who work together to deliver scientific meetings to advance formulation and so accelerate the move to sustainable products across many industries. In 2020, the FSTG was able to transfer its meetings successfully online, running five meetings with 1,400 registered participants.
