Synthesis and Characterization of the Homobimetallic [Bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde) oxaloyldihydrazonato]bisdioxomolybdenum(VI) Tetrahydrate Complex and its Reactivity towards Proton and Electron Donor Reagents

Abstract

The homobimetallic molybdenum(VI) complexes [(MoO 2 ) 2 (napoxlh)]·4H 2 O 1, [{(µ 2 -O)MoO 2 }MoO 2 (napoxl hH 2 )]·2L·4H 2 O, [L=pyridine (py) 2, 3-pic 3] and the molybdenum(V) complexes [MoO 2 (napoxlh)(sylsh) 2 ]·5H 2 O 4 and [Mo 2 (napoxlh)(inh) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]·3H 2 O 5, (3-pic=3-picoline, sylshH 3 =salicyloylhydrazine and inhH 3 =isonicotinoylhydrazine) are synthesized from bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde) oxaloyldihydrazone (napoxlhH 4 ) and then characterized.
