Xinyu Liu

Biography

Xinyu joined the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2026 as a Publishing Editor on the Energy & Environment team. Prior to this, she completed her PhD in Chemistry at University of Cambridge, jointly supervised by Prof. Alexander Forse and Prof. Dame Clare Grey. Her research focused on understanding the structure-property relationships in nanoporous carbons for sustainable energy applications using advanced spectroscopic techniques. She has published 14 peer-reviewed articles including papers in Science and Nature.

Outside work, Xinyu enjoys cooking, music and reading.
