Energy is an exciting, multidisciplinary research area, bringing together chemistry, physics, materials science, engineering, computer science, and techno-economical/ecological evaluation. Energy Advances features cutting-edge chemical science at the forefront of energy technology with particular focus on emerging materials and methods.
Scope
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Batteries, supercapacitors, hybrid devices and other energy storage technologies
- Bioenergy, biofuels and the biorefinery
- Carbon capture, storage or utilisation
- Catalysis and chemical engineering for energy applications
- Fuel cells
- Hydrogen production and storage
- Modelling, machine learning and characterisation for energy materials and systems
- Solar energy conversion and photovoltaics
Our world is becoming more complex, and transformative changes are being felt at an increased pace and intensity. For me, the journey into the future, this vast undiscovered country, makes it so much more important to support the energy research community with inclusivity and robust scholarly science. The RSC has earned the reputation of being a champion of publishing quality, and I am excited to contribute towards the open access transformation.
