Abstract

A novel complex [FeIII2(μ-O){μ-OC(NH2)NH} (tpa)2](ClO4)3 [tpa = tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine] has been synthesized and fully characterized; its formation from urea and the [FeIII2(μ-O)(tpa)2(OH)(H2O) ]3+ precursor in aqueous acetonitrile is a reversible multistep process.
