Synthesis and characterization of a decacobalt carbonyl cluster with two semi-interstitial phosphorus atoms

Abstract

A paramagnetic cobalt carbonyl cluster, [Co10P2(CO)23H]2−, containing two partially-encapsulated phosphorus atoms is synthesized through the reaction of [Co6(CO)15]2− and [Co(CO)4] with PBr3 in THF.
