Self-assembly of the first heterodinuclear d–f triple helix in solution

Abstract

The segmental bidentate–tridentate ligand L2 reacts with LnIII and ZnII in acetonitrile to give the first self-assembled heterodinuclear d–f triple-helical complexes [LnZn(L2)3]5+(Ln = La, Eu), as determined from solution-phase studies.
