An X-ray structure determination of the title compound (2), synthesized from the dithioacetal (1) by regiospecific metallation with n-butyl-lithium and alkylation with ethyl iodide, was performed; it was shown that the regiospecific metallation is not related to the nature of the substitutent at the dithioacetal residue.
