Issue 1 of the new journal 'Molecular BioSystems' launched
Celebrations are underway at the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), where the first issue of the new chemical biology journal Molecular BioSystems has just been published. The electronic issue is freely available at online. The new journal has particular relevance to the -omic sciences, systems biology and molecular medicine disciplines.
"We are delighted to announce the launch of this first issue of Molecular BioSystems," commented Caroline Evans, Editor of the new journal. "The published articles confirm the need for this new forum for novel work at the interface between chemistry and the -omic sciences and systems biology."
Herbert Waldmann and Kazunari Taira are among the eminent scientists publishing in the inaugural issue. The content covers a diverse range of subjects and article types: a Review on the application of protein structure similarity clustering in developing focussed libraries of protein ligands; a Communication on affinity purification of RNA polymerase; a Highlight on the role of genomics in directing cancer drug development, and a Method for profiling bacterial lipopolysaccharides using electrophoretic and mass spectrometric strategies.
The 'Hot off the Press' section highlights recently published articles from the world's literature which Board members and their research groups have found particularly exciting.
"This journal will strive to be a thought leader in the field, publishing not only some of the best new research, but also reviews and forward-looking articles," declared Thomas Kodadek, chair of the Editorial Board and Professor of Internal Medicine and Molecular Biology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, adding: "This is an exciting time for those of us who work in this area."
Issue 1 is available free for all readers (sample copies are available from Sales & Customer Care on request).
Molecular BioSystems has been renamed Molecular Omics.
