Richard Pike awards Croydon pupils for 5-Decade Exam Challenge excellence
Richard Pike, chief executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry, visited Trinity School in Croydon to present awards to three pupils who achieved places in the top 10 in a national competition by the society this summer.
The Five Decade Challenge was run to see how standards in chemistry examinations had changed since 1960.
It drew almost 3000 contestants on-line across the country and attracted national and regional coverage for the issues.
Dr Pike handed awards and cash prizes to each of the Trinity contestants and a cheque and award to the school.
