RSC position on Science is Vital campaign
Ruth Doyle, director of communications and external relations at the Royal Society of Chemistry, said: "We share the aims of the 'Science is Vital' campaign and will be highlighting it to our members and encouraging them to get involved in its activities. We have also sent the RSC's own Comprehensive Spending Review submission to the Treasury today (October 4). This is in addition to the independent Oxford Economics report published earlier this week, which found that one in every five pounds in the UK economy is dependent on developments in chemistry research.
"These reports will be added to the debate and will become vital pieces of information that lend weight to the voice of all those in science challenging the thinking behind potential research funding cuts."
