RSC president welcomes news of GSK research and development plans
Professor David Phillips, President of the Royal Society of Chemistry, today welcomed plans by pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline to expand their research and development base in the UK:
"This is most welcome news, coming after difficult times for some pharma employees. GlaxoSmithKline is showing faith in the UK as a place to operate, which reflects well on the standing of UK chemical sciences. The plans for recruitment are a welcome boost for chemistry graduates and should lead to research opportunities in universities also."
