RSC Advances goes weekly one year after launch
The team behind RSC Advances celebrated its huge success on the eve of its first birthday by moving to a weekly publication.
The journal covers the breadth of the chemical sciences, including speciality and interdisciplinary fields and was the first journal to feature the new system of 'topic modelling'.
This classifies the content into one or more of 12 subject categories, such as energy, analytical and organic chemistry, accessible via the subject tab on the website and enables readers to go straight to the most relevant content.
Dr James Milne, RSC Managing Director, Publishing, said: "For a journal to become weekly in its first year is testament to the community support for the journal and the fantastic teamwork behind RSC Advances, which goes from strength to strength.
"All RSC Advances articles from 2011 and this year remain free to access, so I would urge people to sign up to see what the journal has to offer."
More than 1,000 articles have been published since its launch last August and the Royal Society of Chemistry has received many positive comments from authors on the efficient service provided to them.
With the journal moving to weekly publication, page numbers will be assigned to articles more quickly, while more frequent table of content alerts help authors and readers to keep up to date with the latest research.
