Prize winners 2022
Today we announce the 2022 winners of our prizes. We are recognising individuals, collaborations and teams for their exceptional achievements in advancing the chemical sciences.
Our Horizon Prizes are now in their second year, and we have 11 new winners to celebrate. Designed to recognise the most exciting, contemporary science, the prizes are awarded to teams or collaborations that are opening up new directions and possibilities in their field.
We're also announcing our Research & Innovation Prize winners, our Volunteer Recognition Prize winners, and the winners of our Inclusion & Diversity Prize today.
Nominations are currently open for our Education Prizes – which now include 11 prizes for educators – and winners of these will be announced in the November. Nominations for these close on 22 June.
Dr Helen Pain, Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry, said:
"Great science changes the way we think about things – either through the techniques used, the findings themselves, the products that emerge or even in how we interact with the world and those around us. Importantly, it also allows us to reflect on the incredible people involved in this work and how they have achieved their results.
"Although we are in the midst of negotiating a particularly turbulent and challenging era, it is important to celebrate successes and advances in understanding as genuine opportunities to improve our lives. The work of this year’s prize winners is a fantastic example of why we celebrate great science, and we’re very proud to recognise their contribution today."
