British Science Week in Yorkshire

On Friday 16 March in Sheffield, and Saturday 17 March in Leeds, Royal Society of Chemistry volunteers gave their #time4chem to enthuse the general public about their passion for chemistry.

With activities to engage with all age groups – such as making sherbet, investigating density and testing people’s sense of smell and taste – our members interacted with over 2500 members of the public.

Many of the volunteers were new to outreach and were fantastic advocates, and the people who participated in the fun and interactive demonstrations went away with a greater appreciation for chemistry.
