Professor Peter Sadler from the University of Warwick mesmerised over 550 college students and faculty members from Chennai with his public lecture on the periodic table, which showcased elements of life and medicines.
The hour-long lecture, organised to celebrate the International Year of Periodic Table, was peppered with vignettes of stories about rare elements that we consume during our daily life, the interaction of electrons through balloons, and finally a quiz for students. Professor Sadler gave away prizes including a periodic table bag and pen for correct answers!
The lecture, held at Stella Marris College on February 6, was jointly organised by the RSC, CRSI, CSIR-CLRI and IIT Madras.
