Building confidence about my future
One attendee was Michael Bolland, who joined a workshop at Burlington House. Michael was keen to recommend the workshop to fellow members and said: “As my full retirement was in sight, I wanted to find out how to make the most out of such a major change in my way of life; I was very curious to know what information and help was out there and decided to enrol on this workshop. Very glad I did too!
“I really enjoyed meeting a wide cross-section of other members approaching a very similar situation to my own. I found the combination of meeting other people in this way, with very detailed, informed and well-delivered presentations, extremely helpful and gave me confidence about my future.
“I recommend you put any doubts you have about your retirement to one side and attend this workshop and make the most of it. No regrets!”
How can I get involved?
The fund team is already collaborating with other local sections for future workshops, with details available below. For members who are presently unable to travel to a workshop, the fund has purchased a number of books, which are now available in the Royal Society of Chemistry library at Burlington House, in London. The titles include What’s Your Excuse for Not Being Better With Money? which was written by Jo Thresher, Director of Better With Money.
If you would be interested in hosting a workshop in your Local Section the please do get in touch.
